A Springtime Birthday Card!

Happy Spring and Happy Easter to my readers! I haven't been working in my craft room as much as I would like lately but I have a card to share with everyone today!  My moms birthday was last month and I had to wait for her to receive her package before I could post this card.  Of course shipping times from Italy take forever so now that it finally has arrived, I can post the card!

I love this Sheltering Tree stamp set from Stampin' Up! It reminds me a lot of one of their past stamp sets (and a highly sought after set which means I will never get rid of mine) called Branch Out.  This set can be used for making scenes from all four seasons.  For the background paper, I used the Irresistibility Yours Designer Paper from the 2015 Sale-A-Bration catalog.  It is originally white with an embossed fan design and I sponged the background to give it the teal color using Bermuda Bay ink.
This is a two step stamp set meaning you stamp one image first and another over top which is a great way to combine colors.  I hope that everyone has a wonderful Easter and gets to spend time with family and friends!

Better a little late than never!

Hello stampers! Its been a while I know but life has gotten in the way and I have not been able to do much stamping lately BUT I was able to sit down yesterday and knock out my Christmas cards! Yes, yes I know, Christmas was three days ago but like the title of this post says, better late than never!

I was able to work with a new stamp set that I got from Stampin' Up called Wondrous Wreath.  This is a beautiful stamp set that is great for all occasions not just the winter holidays.  It is a three part stamp set which means the stamp has three layers you can add to it for depth and dimension.  I love that you can make this a fall, spring, or winter wreath.  Its definitely now one of my favorite stamp sets also because you can purchase the match framelits to cut out the wreath to give it a 3D effect.

I love the simple look to my card this year with the use of the embossing folder and the framelit to cut out the bow.  Its hard to tell in the photo but I used all three layers on the card and there are some leaves that are a darker color than the others by using the second step stamp.

I hope that the receivers of my card this year enjoy the design and I know that I enjoyed making my cards this year!

Workin' In the Craft Room!

Ciao readers! Its been a while! I have been so busy with work, Girl Scouts, going home to the states for a month, and other activities that I haven't had a lot of time to work in the craft room lately.

I just wanted to stop by and show a little something I have been working on today.  Its the August My Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up.  The kit is a great way to assemble beautiful cards in a short amount of time! Perfect for me!

This is one of the mini cards that comes with the kit.  The heart is already die cut, I just stamped the sentiment, added some pop up foam dimensionals and boom! Its done! Super simple card in less than five minutes.

Time for Tea Invitations!

Good afternoon readers! Its another beautiful day in Italy and time for me to share another invitation creation! Today's creation is an invitation that I made for my best friends daughters birthday.  She was having a Parisian themed tea party based off the book Fancy Nancy and needed something that was unique.

The birthday was for a 3 going on 4 year old little girl who is all about playing dress up and tea parties.  I knew I had found the perfect time to make a card that wasn't a traditional shape!

Each invitation was traced from a template and hand cut.  I then used an embossing folder to run the invite through my Big Shot machine to give it some texture.  I used the doily die to cut the pink base and used glimmer paper to give it some shine.  The Eiffel Tower stamp was the perfect accent to this piece.  I used bakers twine and a tea bag shape to make the cup look like there was tea brewing.

I loved the way this turned out along with my best friend and her daughter.  Although I wasn't able to make the party as we were traveling that weekend, I heard that all the parents and girls had a wonderful time decorating tea cups and cupcakes and of course, playing dress up.  I can't wait to see what her party next year will be themed!

'Tis the Season Blog Challenge #13

Happy Thursday readers! Its almost Friday! Today is another edition of 'Tis the Season Christmas Card Challenge.  This week will be my last with this design group and my personal life has just gotten too busy to be able to keep up with the group.  I will miss being able to create these cards but you can keep playing along with them still all year round!

This weeks challenge is a sketch with a chevron twist.  I love the chevron punch so I knew I wanted to incorporate it along with some sanding and a peek of some Designer Series Paper.

I really like the way this card turned out.  Normally brown and green aren't my favorite colors to place together but tied in with red, it really does mesh well.  The silver glimmer paper shines and the sanding brings out the white in the core of the paper.

I hope you enjoyed my card for this challenge and I hope you are able to play along with us and make sure to visit our blog at Tis The Season Christmas Card Challenge!

'Tis the Season Blog Challenge #12

Its that time of the week Stampers! Time for another 'Tis the Season Christmas Card Challenge! This week we have another color challenge which is perfect to get your creative juices flowing!

I had some trouble with this color scheme.  Real Red and Garden Green always shout out Christmas colors to me, but I never work with Soft Sky.  The color is just way too light for me.  I like bright and bold colors! The paper is too light and the ink is barely visible, but I wanted to work out of my comfort zone and try something new.

I saw this layout on Pinterest the other day and thought this would work great for this challenge.  I used a retired embossing folder, but I thought it brought something to the background mat that it needed.  I inked my sentiment in Soft Sky (see I was right with it being too light) and used the new scallop tag punch to create the tag.  Super easy to use and a great accessory!  I pulled some of the sequins off of the gold sequin ribbon and added them for extra shine.

I hope you enjoyed my card for this challenge and I hope you are able to play along with us and make sure to visit our blog at Tis The Season Christmas Card Challenge!
