Workin' In the Craft Room!

Ciao readers! Its been a while! I have been so busy with work, Girl Scouts, going home to the states for a month, and other activities that I haven't had a lot of time to work in the craft room lately.

I just wanted to stop by and show a little something I have been working on today.  Its the August My Paper Pumpkin kit from Stampin' Up.  The kit is a great way to assemble beautiful cards in a short amount of time! Perfect for me!

This is one of the mini cards that comes with the kit.  The heart is already die cut, I just stamped the sentiment, added some pop up foam dimensionals and boom! Its done! Super simple card in less than five minutes.

Time for Tea Invitations!

Good afternoon readers! Its another beautiful day in Italy and time for me to share another invitation creation! Today's creation is an invitation that I made for my best friends daughters birthday.  She was having a Parisian themed tea party based off the book Fancy Nancy and needed something that was unique.

The birthday was for a 3 going on 4 year old little girl who is all about playing dress up and tea parties.  I knew I had found the perfect time to make a card that wasn't a traditional shape!

Each invitation was traced from a template and hand cut.  I then used an embossing folder to run the invite through my Big Shot machine to give it some texture.  I used the doily die to cut the pink base and used glimmer paper to give it some shine.  The Eiffel Tower stamp was the perfect accent to this piece.  I used bakers twine and a tea bag shape to make the cup look like there was tea brewing.

I loved the way this turned out along with my best friend and her daughter.  Although I wasn't able to make the party as we were traveling that weekend, I heard that all the parents and girls had a wonderful time decorating tea cups and cupcakes and of course, playing dress up.  I can't wait to see what her party next year will be themed!

'Tis the Season Blog Challenge #13

Happy Thursday readers! Its almost Friday! Today is another edition of 'Tis the Season Christmas Card Challenge.  This week will be my last with this design group and my personal life has just gotten too busy to be able to keep up with the group.  I will miss being able to create these cards but you can keep playing along with them still all year round!

This weeks challenge is a sketch with a chevron twist.  I love the chevron punch so I knew I wanted to incorporate it along with some sanding and a peek of some Designer Series Paper.

I really like the way this card turned out.  Normally brown and green aren't my favorite colors to place together but tied in with red, it really does mesh well.  The silver glimmer paper shines and the sanding brings out the white in the core of the paper.

I hope you enjoyed my card for this challenge and I hope you are able to play along with us and make sure to visit our blog at Tis The Season Christmas Card Challenge!

'Tis the Season Blog Challenge #12

Its that time of the week Stampers! Time for another 'Tis the Season Christmas Card Challenge! This week we have another color challenge which is perfect to get your creative juices flowing!

I had some trouble with this color scheme.  Real Red and Garden Green always shout out Christmas colors to me, but I never work with Soft Sky.  The color is just way too light for me.  I like bright and bold colors! The paper is too light and the ink is barely visible, but I wanted to work out of my comfort zone and try something new.

I saw this layout on Pinterest the other day and thought this would work great for this challenge.  I used a retired embossing folder, but I thought it brought something to the background mat that it needed.  I inked my sentiment in Soft Sky (see I was right with it being too light) and used the new scallop tag punch to create the tag.  Super easy to use and a great accessory!  I pulled some of the sequins off of the gold sequin ribbon and added them for extra shine.

I hope you enjoyed my card for this challenge and I hope you are able to play along with us and make sure to visit our blog at Tis The Season Christmas Card Challenge!

Stylin' Stampin' Squad March Hop!

Thank you so much for joining us for our March Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop!  Temperatures are on the rise and there is just one short week until the official first day of Spring!  We are all so ready to put away our snowflakes and break out the flowers in our craft rooms!  Stampin' Up! has so many options for Spring-time flowers and we are showing you just a few of those today!

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 5 on the Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad blog hop – Erica B. of Stamping Starlette. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

With the warmer temps here in Italy the time has come to think of flowers, sitting on my balcony looking at the mountains, and of course drinking wine outside! I love spring time in Italy.  Its not too hot yet and it just seems like everything comes alive.

This month, I chose to focus on some Sale-A-Bration items.  Make sure to take advantage of this offer soon as time is running out to get these great products!  I wanted to use the Petal Parade stamp set, the cork and thread pack, and the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper.  It seems like these items go hand and hand!

I chose some colors I don't normally work together with: Old Olive and Wisteria Wonder.  Purple and green aren't really my favorite colors, but paired with Coastal Cabana they look wonderful.  Pastels scream Spring!  This card can be used for someone you are thinking about, an anniversary card plus more.  Its very versatile.

Make sure to continue on with our hop to see all of the great projects!  Click the 'Next' button to move to the next blog, or skip around with the list provided below!  Happy Spring Stampers!

'Tis the Season Blog Challenge #11

Hello Readers! I can't believe that tomorrow will be the last day of February! Where has the time gone!?  I also can't believe we are already on challenge number 11 for 'Tis the Season Christmas Card Blog Challenge!  This weeks challenge was an inspiration challenge.  From the photo below, I chose to pull my ideas from the colors shown.

While browsing Pinterest for inspiration, I came across a color combo that I had pinned a while ago.  I really liked the combo and it seemed to really work with the photo above!

For my project this week, I wanted to use some of our most recent incolors of Pistachio Pudding and Coastal Cabana while pairing it with Smoky Slate and Basic Gray.  Here's the project I came up with:

The photo turned out a little darker than what I had wanted but you are able to see all the colors represented.  I hope you enjoyed my card for this challenge and I hope you are able to play along with us and make sure to visit our blog at Tis The Season Christmas Card Challenge!

'Tis the Season Blog Challenge #10

Happy Thursday Stampers! While tomorrow may be the day of love, today's post is still all about Christmas cards! Over at 'Tis the Season Christmas Card Challenge we are onto our 10th challenge! Make sure to join us today!

For this weeks challenge we have a sketch design:

Hexagons are super hot right now and why not try something different and incorporate them into your Holiday cards this year! A simple sketch like this can get the juices flowing.  I can up with a great card that can be made easily so when the Holidays do come, they are easy to reproduce in the masses.

I definitely knew that I needed to use the hexagon embossing folder for this card.  A simple background with embossed texture pops and makes the red and green colors shine even more.  A simple neutral ribbon doesn't take away from the overall look, and the sponged edges of the sentiment and added foam dimensionals make the saying stand out.

I hope you enjoyed my card for this challenge and I hope you are able to play along with us and make sure to visit our blog at Tis The Season Christmas Card Challenge!
