Want a free short lesson in Italian? Sure you do! Grazie Mille (Grat-zee Mill-lay) is the translation for Thanks a Million, which is what todays card is all about! I have learned since living in Italy for almost two months that Italians do not say grazie mille everyday. This phrase is reserved for very special occassions when someone has gone above and beyond themselves...so a grazie mille then is appropriate. Normal everyday thank you is grazie. So grazie for checking out my blog!
Today's card is for the weekly ColorQ challenge. The challenge can be found on their website at http://colourq.blogspot.com. This weeks challenge is:
While these colors are definielty not my colors of choice especially since Summer Starfruit and So Saffron as so close to each other, I wanted to challenge myself and see how I could use these colors. Cameo Coral is a retired color and I do not have any paper in that color, so instead I went with Calypso Coral, which is a current In-Color and very close to Cameo Coral. Here is my creation:
I really like the way it turned out! I roughed up the edges on the Calypso Coral layer of the punched flower to give it a textured look. The Summer Starfruit is a mystery color as I like to call it. The ribbon, flower decal in the middle of the small flower and the punched out green flower are all the same color. I think it has a split personality and can't decide if it wants to be green or yellow.
