Stamper's by the Dozen August Hop - Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!

Welcome to our new and exciting blog hop - Stamper's By the Dozen!  We are a newly founded group of 12 Stampin' Up Demonstrators who will be hopping each month to a different theme!  We hope that you will join us in viewing our blogs each month and seeing all our great projects.

Our first theme is Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!  The 2017 Stampin' Up Holiday Catalog is in preorder status for us Demonstrators and goes live to all our customers on September 1st!  While I can't show you the inside of the catalog, take a look at the cover! Isn't it beautiful?!  Normally the Holiday Catalog doesn't spark my interest as much but this catalog is wonderful and there truly is something for everyone!

Normally the Holiday Catalog doesn't spark my interest very much but this catalog is wonderful and there truly is something for everyone!  For my hop project this month, I wanted to highlight a stamp set called Christmas in the Making.  When I first saw this set, I knew I had to get it.  Not only because the artwork looks like 50's ladies, but because I knew they would be perfect for water coloring!

For me, it's too early to start working on Christmas projects especially since it was 98 degrees here in Tucson today!  I wanted to highlight this project but also show how it could be used for a different occasion.

This card would be perfect to give to someone for a birthday!  I wanted to do something with non traditional colors and the Quilted Christmas 6x6 Designer Series Paper showcases other colors that can go along with traditional red and green!

For the chevrons at the bottom of the card, I used the Work of Art stamp set with Real Red paper and coordinating ink together to do a tone on tone stamping look.  I used the Softly Falling Embossing Folder as well as the Stitched Shaped Framelits to add some texture.  For the lady,  I stamped here on watercolor paper and colored her with watercolor pencils, then used our Aqua Painter to make those colors come alive!  I love how this can be used in many different settings and the cat is so cute!

Global Stamping Friends - Special Anniversary Edition!

Hello everyone! Happy Friday!  It's time for a surprise and exciting blog shop from the Global Stamping Friends! This hop is celebrating its one year anniversary and while I only hopping with them for the second time, so far I have enjoyed the variety of projects from around the world!
This special hop theme today is celebrating anniversaries, which is perfect for this special occasion!  My husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this June and it was great as it was the first time we had been together in two years to celebrate.  The military does crazy things and celebrations like anniversaries and birthdays are the last thing on their mind!

For my project I knew that I wanted to use the Colorful Seasons Bundle.  This stamp set and coordinating dies are perfect to couple together.  The original saying in the stamp set says "May all YOUR tomorrows be as happy as today" but I thought this was the perfect chance to use masking and hide the Y and make it read "May all OUR tomorrows be as happy as today".  I used Work of Art stamp set to create the sandy beach area the chairs are sitting on and the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack to show the wood grain from the chair.  The Foil Frenzy Designer Series Paper is a perfect shiny accent on the side!  It's hard to see in the photo,  but I also did a mirror stamping technique to the words at the top.

Global Stamping Friends August Hop - Celebrating Kids!

Hello to everyone reading from the USA and all around the Globe!  Today I'm joining a new monthly hop for the first time with other Stampin' Up Demonstrators from around the world! After living in Europe the past four years and now living back in the USA, it will be nice to feel connected to those overseas again!

While I don't have any human kids, I have two fur babies that I treat like children! They are a big part of our lives!

For my project this month, I highlighted the No Bones About It stamp set! This is a two step stamping set where you stamp the outline of the dino first then add the bones! With this option, you can stamp them together or separate.  Its a great set that's very versatile and perfect for kids creations!

This card is perfect for any kids birthday or great for any adult too that you think is GRRRREAT! On this card I did use the two step stamping and showcased all three dinos!  This would be a simple card to showcase during a stamping class, technique class, or to pass along to your favorite birthday kiddo!

Check out the rest of the great kids projects in our hop by clicking HERE to go to Susan Vilar's blog or click the next button below!
